Staff members from the
Confucious Institute have been giving assistants at Selfridges a crash course in basic Mandarin and Far Eastern Culture, the
M.E.N. reports. Selfridges identified a need for the bespoke training package after noticing an increase in Chinese visitors to their Exchange Square store.
Karen Wang, the deputy director of the institute, said: "We are delighted to be working with Selfridges in promoting a greater understanding of Chinese culture and behaviour in a way that will improve the day-to-day experiences of both Selfridges staff and Chinese shoppers."
